The Minister of Health, Hon Dr Jonathan Coleman welcomed the official launch of the Healthy Families NZ video in August. The video was co-created by the ten Healthy Families NZ communities and the Ministry of Health to showcase the role that everyone has to play in creating the foundations for a healthier future.

The bold, vibrant video was shot across each of the ten locations, and features key community members from all walks of life, including mayors, kaumātua, business leaders, educators, sportspeople, local initiators and local influencers.

The Healthy Families NZ approach is for local people to help drive changes to support good health — through the influence of local leaders across many different systems and settings.

It aims to make good health easier and more accessible for people, by creating health promoting environments, where people live, learn, work and play.
